The conference will be held at the Oceanographic Observatory, Banyuls-sur-mer (France).
In the heart of the Côte Vermeille, under the Catalan sun, Banyuls is awaiting you!
Thanks to its exceptional situation in the extreme south of France, on the Mediterranean coast,
at the place where the Pyrenees mountains merge with the sea, Banyuls-sur-mer is a very special
town with a privileged climate. It lies in the heart of the southern lands of the French Catalonia,
surrounded by vineyards, well known for its gastronomy and special Banyuls wine. This situation,
and its proximity to Spain, makes it a place of contrast, between sea and mountain.
The vineyards of Banyuls
Arriving at Banyuls, you will discover the authentic riches of the region:
- A vineyard that literally slips into the sea
- Ancient olive trees
- Picturesque hamlets
After the sessions, enjoy the shade of a plane tree, a Banyuls or a Collioure while listening to and watching our famous Sardana musicians and dancers.
The city is a stone's throw from Spain and is less than 50 km from Figueras and its famous
Dali Museum. Banyuls-sur-Mer is an ideal starting point for exploring the Catalan country,
with its authentic countryside and charming villages. A half-day excursion will take participants
to selected locations around the city, and the conference will provide an opportunity to enjoy
French gastronomy.
